Getting started
How do I create an account?
Download MySocify from Google Play, then sign up with your email address or continue with Google. You must be at least 13.
Is MySocify on iPhone?
Not yet. MySocify is on Android, for phones running Android 7 or newer.
Where is Settings?
Open your profile, then tap the menu at the top right.
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your username or email address. We email you a code. Enter it, then choose a new password.
How do I change my username?
Go to your profile and tap Edit profile. You can change your username once every 7 days. Your old username is held for 14 days before anyone else can take it.
Posting
How do I post?
On Home, tap Write a post at the top. Add a caption, photos or a video, choose who can see it, and post.
Who can see my post?
Choose Public or Followers before you post. If your account is private, only followers you approved see anything you share.
How do I edit or delete a post?
Open the post's menu and tap Edit post or Delete post.
My video did not upload
Keep MySocify open until the upload finishes, because leaving the app can stop it. A Wi-Fi connection helps with longer videos. If it fails, try posting it again.
What does trending mean?
When many different people react to a post quickly, it starts trending and gets shown to more people. If your post trends, we send you a notification.
@bot
How do I use @bot?
Write @bot in a comment, followed by your question. It replies in the same thread within a few seconds. Put @bot in a caption and it comments on your post.
Why did @bot not reply?
Each account can ask @bot a limited number of times a day, and @bot declines some topics, such as religion, weapons or private information about people. Try again later or rephrase.
@bot said something wrong
AI answers can be wrong. Report the reply from the comment's menu. If it is on your own post, you can delete it.
Privacy and safety
How do I make my account private?
In Settings, turn on Private account. New followers then need your approval, which you give in Follow requests.
How do I block someone?
Open their profile, tap the menu at the top right and tap Block. To unblock, go to Settings and then Blocked accounts.
How do I report something?
Open the menu on the post, comment or profile, and tap Report post, Report comment or Report account. A person reviews every report.
How do I change notifications?
In Settings, under Notifications, turn push notifications on or off, and choose whether to hear about likes, comments and replies, or new followers.
Your account
Where are my saved posts?
In Settings, under Saved. Only you can see what you saved.
The app is using too much space
In Settings, tap Clear cached data. Your posts and account are not affected.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings, under Account, tap Delete account. You can also do it without the app. See how to delete your account.
