Information we collect
- Account information, such as your email address, username, password and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google.
- Profile information you choose to add, such as a photo, bio or date of birth.
- Content and activity, such as the photos, videos, captions and comments you post, and your likes, follows and reports.
- Device and usage information, such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate country, and how you use the app.
We remove location data from photos before they are stored. We do not collect your precise location or your contacts.
How we use it
- To provide MySocify, show your posts to the people you choose, and send notifications.
- To personalise your feed and suggestions.
- To power features such as @bot, which uses AI to reply to comments that mention it.
- To keep MySocify safe, prevent spam and abuse, and enforce our rules.
- To send account emails, such as password resets, and to reply to you.
- To show ads and understand how the app is used.
- To comply with the law.
How we share it
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only:
- With service providers that help us run MySocify, such as hosting, storage, email, AI and analytics providers, who may use it only to provide their service to us.
- With Google, for sign-in, notifications, analytics and ads. Google’s use of this data is described in How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
- As part of a merger or sale of the business, under this same policy.
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We require it to be protected as this policy describes wherever it is processed.
What others can see
Your username, display name and profile photo are visible to other people. If your account is public, your posts and comments are too. If your account is private, only followers you approve can see your posts. Your email address and date of birth are never shown to others.
Keeping your data safe
We protect your information with encryption in transit and restricted access to our systems. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app or at mysocify.com/delete-account. When you do, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep some of it for legal or safety reasons.
Your choices
- Edit your profile, delete posts, or make your account private at any time.
- Manage notifications in the app, and ad personalisation in your phone’s settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to support@mysocify.com.
Children
MySocify is not for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us at support@mysocify.com and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy and will show the new date at the top. For any privacy question, contact us at support@mysocify.com.
