Be real
- Do not pretend to be someone else, or a brand or organisation you do not represent.
- Do not create accounts to mislead people, or to get around a ban or restriction.
- Do not buy, sell or fake likes, followers or comments.
Respect other people
- No harassment or bullying, including repeated unwanted contact and piling on someone.
- No threats, and no wishing serious harm on anyone.
- No hate speech: attacking people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or illness.
- Do not share someone’s private information, such as their phone number, address or private photos, without their permission.
Nudity and sexual content
Nudity and sexual content are not allowed. Anything that sexualises a minor is removed and reported to the authorities, as our Child Safety Standards explain.
Violence and dangerous content
- No graphic violence or gore, and no content that praises or supports terrorism or violent groups.
- No selling or promoting weapons, drugs or other illegal goods.
- No encouraging suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a local helpline.
- No dangerous challenges or stunts that could get someone hurt.
Spam and scams
- No spam, including repeated posts or comments and misleading links.
- No scams, fraud, fake giveaways or schemes that take people’s money or details.
False information that causes harm
Do not post false information that could cause real harm, such as fake emergencies, dangerous health claims, or invented news meant to deceive.
Respect what belongs to others
Only post photos, videos and music you made or have permission to use. If someone has posted your work without permission, write to support@mysocify.com.
Using @bot
Do not use @bot to harass, mock or target other people, or to create false information. @bot will roast your own post if you ask, but it will not pile on someone else.
How to report
Open the menu on any post, comment or profile and tap Report. A person reviews every report, and the account you report is not told who reported it. You can also block anyone at any time. For anything urgent, write to support@mysocify.com.
What happens when rules are broken
- We remove content that breaks these rules.
- Each violation can add a strike to the account. Strikes expire over time.
- Repeated violations can limit features, such as posting, commenting or following, for a period of time.
- Serious or repeated violations can lead to suspension. Some, like anything that exploits a child, lead to a permanent ban straight away.
