AI and @bot

Last updated

The short version

  1. MySocify uses AI in two places: @bot, and sorting posts by topic for your feed.
  2. AI sees only what it needs: text and at most one image from a post.
  3. AI never decides to remove your content or suspend your account. People do.
  4. @bot can be wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it.

@bot

@bot is an AI account built into MySocify. It replies only when someone mentions it in a comment or a caption.

  • What it sees: the comment that mentioned it, the post’s caption, one image from the post, recent comments in the thread, and the country of the person who asked, so answers are relevant to where they are.
  • Current events: some questions about recent news may be looked up on a web search service to give an up-to-date answer.
  • What it posts: its reply is a public comment, visible to anyone who can see the post.
  • What it remembers: only the thread it is replying in. It does not keep a memory of you between conversations.
  • What it will not do: it stays away from religion, and declines requests such as harming people, weapons, hacking, or sharing private information about someone.

Post topics for your feed

To personalise your feed, an AI model reads a post’s caption and one image (the first photo, or a video’s cover) and picks up to three topics, such as sports or food. Your feed then gives a little more room to topics you engage with.

Topics are never shown to other people and are never used for ads. Videos themselves are not sent, only their cover image.

What AI never does

  • It never decides to remove content, limit features or suspend accounts. A person makes every enforcement decision.
  • It never receives your email address, password or phone number.
  • Our AI providers process content only to give us the result, and under their terms with us they do not use it to train their models.

When @bot gets it wrong

AI answers can be wrong, out of date or incomplete, and they are not professional advice. If a reply from @bot is wrong or inappropriate, report it from the comment’s menu. If it is on your own post, you can delete it. You can also write to support@mysocify.com.
